Renowned hair colourist Hannah is the Colour Director at The Drawing Room Salon in Shoreditch, East London. As well as her work at the Drawing Room, Hannah has tended to the manes of celebrities such as Jessie Ware, Pixie Lott and Niall Horan and is especially in demand at the shows during London and Paris Fashion Weeks. She has lived and worked in London for the past 13 years and, alongside her hectic work schedule, somehow finds the time for her most important role as mummy to adorable 1-year-old Arthur. Hannah shares her beautiful Victorian townhouse in East London with her partner Pete, Arthur and Herman the cat.
What’s your most lusted after interior item?
I’ve been looking for a large convex, round mirror to hang over my fireplace. I’m always searching on eBay on the off chance someone is selling one.
Confess to one guilty purchase you’ve made for your home.
The Tom Dixon Bronze Pendant light that we have hanging low over our dining table, it’s a design classic and perfect centrepiece for the room.
Where would be your dream place to live, in London or elsewhere?
In Victoria Park Village in East London, in one of the five-storey Victorian townhouses facing the park. I love all the cafés and pubs around there and all that beautiful green space on your doorstep.
What has been your favourite holiday destination and why?
Tulum in Mexico – it’s paradise. Pete and I stayed at an amazing boutique hotel on the beach called Coqui Coqui – the interior is beyond cool and they make their own signature perfumes and candles.
Favourite places to visit in London?
Brunch at Dishoom in Shoreditch for the best bacon sandwich and unlimited chai tea; afternoon tea in the Pink Room at Sketch and to experience the 'eggloos'; a spot of shopping on Lamb’s Conduit Street; finishing with dinner at Jason Atherton’s Social Eating House in Soho.
What is your favourite tipple?
A chilli and passion fruit martini at Shoreditch House.
What are you aspirations for the next 12 months?
I want Arthur to start seeing the world. The first stamp in his passport was the U.S. when he came with me while I was colouring Niall's hair on the One Direction tour – it will be hard to beat that trip this year!
I also want to finish renovating our house – it is a work in progress but I’m loving every minute of it… I feel like I’ve become an interior designer in my spare time! I desperately want to go on one of Abigail Ahearn's interior courses for tips and inspiration; her house in Dalston, East London is my dream home.
Which is your favourite Charlotte Frances London print design?
The Paris and Ibiza prints – I am monochrome obsessed! I'd have our whole house in black and white if I could.
