Describe your interior style in 5 words.
Warm, colourful, mismatching, botanical, modern
What’s your most lusted after interior item?
I have totally fallen in love with the simplicity of Muller van Severen, I adore their table and chair dining sets which combine striking primary colours and natural marble, in very simple, utilitarian design. For me it is reminiscent of school furniture and reminds me of childhood.
What one thing would you buy for your home if money were no object?
I dream of having a Nim coffee table from Pinch in my home – it’s so unique and reminds me of a giant pebble you'd find on the beach.
Where would be your dream place to live, in London or elsewhere?
I can’t get enough of Cornwall. I have such wonderful memories from my time at Falmouth College of Art, I try to go back every summer for a long weekend. I recently went back and it rained the entire time but I still loved it! If I could have a house on the Helford passage in the middle of nowhere over looking the sea, I would be in heaven!
What is your interior style inspiration?
I sway between the sleek minimalism of Scandinavian design and the traditional florals I grew up with at my mum’s house. I am drawn to big, bold colours with heaps of pattern but on the other hand I also love simple, neutral styles with natural finishes, where the original brickwork or wood is exposed, and the serenity that creates. It depends on what mood I am in!
Favourite city and why?
NYC. Manhattan in the summer is hard to beat – it’s so much fun and I can while away hours pottering around Chelsea, Soho and the Lower East Side. I always feel incredibly inspired after a visit.
Favourite places to visit in London?
I try to swim at the London Fields Lido most mornings in the summer, it’s 100% my happy place! I've also fallen into a bad habit of visiting Franco Manca on Broadway Market way too much… their pizzas are hard to resist!
What is your favourite tipple?
At the moment the beer from Crate Brewery.
What are you aspirations for the next 12 months?
To grow Charlotte Frances! We’ve got so many exciting things in the pipeline which I can't wait to happen! Also, to hang out in London as much as possible this summer, it’s one of my favourite cities in the summertime, it lights up and everyone’s so happy. Later this year I plan to travel to India for inspiration for upcoming collections.
What is your favourite Charlotte Frances London print design?
London fields, especially in the wallpaper!
